L'Unità di Lingue (sezione di anglistica) del Dipartimento di Discipline Umanistiche, Sociali e delle Imprese Culturali ha organizzato un seminario strutturato in un ciclo di quattro incontri su tematiche relative alla lingua e letteratura inglese.Martedì 30 gennaio si è svolto l'incontro con la dott.ssa Micòl Beseghi sul tema Exploring and Translating Language Variation in Films.Il prossimo appuntamento è fissato per lunedì 19 febbraio, ore 15:30-17, nell'Aula Miazzi del Plesso di viale San Michele. La prof.ssa Michela Canepari interverrà su Ideology and (Intersemiotic) Translation: The case of H.G. Wells’s The Time Machine and its Adaptations.The aim is to analyse the way H.G. Wells’s novel The Time Machine (1895) was adapted for the cinema by George Pal (1960) and H.G. Wells’s great-grandson Simon Wells (2002). In particular, on the one hand we will briefly discuss the impact that changes in technology and cinematographic tools have had on the realization of science fiction products, whose adaptation largely benefits from new special effects and techniques. On the other, we will address the consequences which cultural, social and political developments have had on the cinematographic transpositions of the same work, mainly from an ideological point of view, approaching the discrepancies existing between the original source text, its first intersemiotic translation and its remake.Gli appuntamenti successivi, dedicati alla letteratura, si terranno giovedì 22 marzo (prof. Diego Saglia) e giovedì 5 aprile (dott.ssa Chiara Rolli). Ulteriori informazioni verranno fornite in seguito.Gli incontri sono rivolti in particolare agli insegnanti e studenti delle scuole medie superiori di Parma e delle provincie limitrofe, ma sono aperti anche a tutti coloro che fossero interessati a partecipare.
