ITALIAN STUDIES

The Italian Studies Unit brings together closely interconnected fields – Italian literature, comparative literatures, linguistics, philology, and the teaching of Italian as L1 and L2. It develops innovative educational pathways, with particular attention to blended learning, teacher training, and internationalization, and to this end hosts the Foundation Year course. 

The Unit promotes high-level research, expressed through the journal Parole rubate, the laboratories of "Glottodidattica" and "Informatica Umanistica e Cultura Digitale", as well as through participation in the interdepartmental laboratory "Venti Ventuno" and in major scholarly initiatives. 

Its commitment also extends to the Third Mission, with projects focused on multilingualism, interculturality, the relationship between literature and society, and literary modernity, through structured initiatives such as the "Festival della Narrazione Industriale", the "Progetto EliCom", and the FAPE programmes dedicated to fiction and representations of the post-human. 

Within this integrated framework, the Unit stands as a dynamic space for education, research, and cultural dissemination, open to dialogue with schools, the local community, and the national and international scholarly community.
